Connie has been working with dogs for over 30 years, and enjoys helping owners transform their dogs into adored family companions.
She and her dog Rose were a certified therapy dog team with the Alliance of Therapy Dog organization. Connie assisted the City of Sweet Home Library in establishing the R.E.A.D program (reading, education, assistance, dogs). She was a co-founder of the Cascade K9 Jamboree, a fundraiser for the City of Sweet Home Police Department police dog program.
Connie has been a breeder/owner of English Shepherds for over 30 years and has placed titles on her dogs in agility, obedience, herding, tricks, barn hunt, farm dog, NASDA and conformation. Connie and her English Shepherd Jasper competed at the first Agility World Championship held in the US. Jasper was also the first English Shepherd to achieve the Outstanding Versatile English Shepherd Award.
Connie continues her education on science based, force free training methods. She is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator, Trick Dog tester and Farm Dog Judge.
Janice started her dogs Sydney and Bowie in nose work when NACSW (National Association of Canine Scent Work) first began classes in 2010.
She continues her education, competes with her dogs and volunteers at nose work trials and is now a trial host.
Janice says "you never stop learning about your dog(s), as each takes to scent work very differently. It's fascinating to watch, and the dogs just love it! No need to compete, just have fun!"
